Silk Sonic has taken over the world of video gaming. Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars, the Grammy Award-nominated combo, have entered the Fortnite realm as playable characters.
Starting February 10, the "Silk Sonic Set," which includes each of the two musicians as well as a slew of clothes, will be accessible to Fortnite players. The "Silk Sonic Cup" tournament, which begins on February 7, will also be open to fans.
Players will also get access to "Icon Radio," an unique in-game radio station presented by Bootsy Collins. This implies that while driving around in cars, users can listen to the duo's debut album An Evening with Silk Sonic, as well as additional Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak tracks.
“When Fortnite asked me if I wanted to create an outfit for the game, I asked, ‘Are CGI muscles off the table?'” Bruno Mars said in a statement. “They said ‘no.’ I said ‘deal.’ I’ll see you on the Island.”
"When Fortnite agreed to give Bruno CGI muscles, I said I’m in," Anderson.Paak remarked, echoing Bruno's sentiments. "He could use the help, so I support it. And it makes me cool. Win, win"
Silk Sonic isn't the first time he's been in Fortnite. Mars introduced the "Leave The Door Open Emote," which was a signature dance available to gamers, in April 2021, and the couple previously did a "Spotlight Concert Series" in 2020.
“Bruno and Anderson are long-time Fortnite favorites,” VP of Global Marketing at Epic Games Nate Nanzer said in a statement. “And we’re thrilled to welcome them to Fortnite‘s Icon series.”
