Sophie Kinsella’s “Finding Audrey” Film Adaptation Already In The Works

We’re going to see another Kinsella novel in the cinemas soon!

Finding Audrey, a YA novel by Sophie Kinsella, is confirmed to be having a film adaptation with Sinking Ship Entertainment and Paper Owl Films having the rights.

With two of Kinsella's books, "Shopaholic and Can You Keep a Secret?", having their adaptations, everyone is excited to see another book turn into a live-action movie. Sinking Ship Entertainment will co-develop the project with Paper Owl Films of Northern Ireland, with Paper Owl Films producing and Sinking Ship Entertainment distributing internationally.

The film adaptation is now in the works and will be based on Kinsella's novel of the same name. Finding Audrey is a film about a teen girl with social anxiety disorder. Audrey is unable to leave her house after a triggering bullying episode at school and hides from the world behind heavy sunglasses. Audrey's path to recovery will be documented using live-action, animation, and special effects, with the support of her crazy but loving family and a young kid named Linus.

"I'm excited for readers of my novel to see the characters come to life on film, as well as for a larger audience to meet Audrey and her family." In a statement, Kinsella stated, "I hope audiences will interact with the plot and the challenges around teenage mental health."
