Local officials reportedly arrested an angry fan waiting to get into a Doja Cat performance before of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Indianapolis on Saturday (January 8) for allegedly making a bomb threat.

According to TMZ, the fan wanted to get inside before the line grew too long, so he told those nearby that he had a bomb on him. The area was evacuated for 20 minutes while police searched the grounds for the purported explosive device, but no such device was found.

“A fan wanted to advance in line so he exercised very poor judgment and told those around him in line he had a bomb in his backpack,”  said Joshua Barker, deputy chief of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD).

“Nearby witnesses told police the individual said he had an explosive on him,” the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said on Twitter. “IMPD officers responded, searched his bag and did not find an explosi ve. The man had unrelated outstanding warrants and was immediately arrested for those.”

Doja Cat's free concert was one of several events taking place in Indiana ahead of Monday's (January 10) college football championship game between the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia.

Doja Cat has made it clear that she wants huge changes in her career in 2022, and she has spoken out about a number of her unsung Hip Hop idols. She praised Queens rapper Homeboy Sandman after closing 2021 by praising Little Brother and expressing a wish to cooperate with 9th Wonder and Jay Versace. Doja presented him his roses during another of her Instagram Live sessions.

“So, Homeboy Sandman is a rapper and he’s really fucking dope, he’s one of my favorite rappers,” she said. “But he does this thing. There’s a part at the end of the song where he’s just supposed to be talking, but when he talks he still sounds like he’s rapping and it’s kinda funny. I don’t know why that’s funny. It’s not that funny but it’s kinda funny to me, I don’t know. Maybe just to me.”
