Jimmy Fallon Tests Positive For COVID19

He mentioned that "The Tonight Show" won't be affected.

Jimmy Fallon, presenter of The Tonight Show, has stated that he tested positive for Covid-19 over the holidays.

Fallon announced the news on Instagram, but clarified that his late-night program will not be impacted.

The last episode of The Tonight Show in 2021 aired on December 17th. It returns tonight with Anthony Anderson, Adam Devine, and musical guest Carly Peace as guests.

On The Tonight Show this evening, Jimmy Fallon discussed his positive Covid test, stating it happened as he was leaving to tape a guest stint on Saturday Night Live's final episode of the year. See the video below for more information.

Fallon said, “On the first day of our holiday break I tested positive for Covid. I was vaccinated and boostered which made me lucky enough to only have mild symptoms.”

He went on to thank the doctors and nurses who “work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed” and he also thanked NBC for taking testing protocols seriously and posted a photo of himself in the “What ‘chu talkin’ about Willis?” thread" isolation room.

The news comes as Covid-19 hospitalizations in New York reached their highest levels since last January due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
