Doja Cat Expresses Intention to Record a Hip Hop Album With Jay Versace and 9th Wonder

Should we expect a full hip hop album from Doja Cat soon?

Doja Cat is coming to the end of a fantastic year, and she has even more in store for 2022.

On Christmas Eve, the "Kiss Me More" singer went live on Instagram to reveal her future plans, which include two new projects, one pop and the other hip-hop.

The first will be a 7-track pop-rap album, followed by a 12-song hip-hop album, which will be produced by Jay Versace and 9th Wonder.

“New project, 12 songs, all of them, every fu**in’ one, Jay Versace and 9th Wonder,” she said. “Jay is like a fantastic producer.”

Jay Versace appeared in her Instagram Live after she called him out. She informed him, "I'd make a 12-14-song album with you and 9th Wonder."

After hearing his name uttered, 9th Wonder also answered. "What are you going to say now?" he wrote on Twitter.

Doja has had a lot of success in pop music, but she still wants to be recognized as a rapper. In response to the argument over whether she should be labeled as a rapper or a pop artist, she commented, "Anyone who claims I'm not a rapper is in denial. They have no idea what they're talking about," says the narrator.

Doja's most recent album, Planet Her, was released in June. Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album were among her eight Grammy nominations.
