Kanye West Documentary “Jeen-Yuhs” To Get Premiere Ahead of Netflix Debut

"Jeen-Yuhs" is premiering sooner than expected!

While it's unclear whether Kanye will be in attendance, Netflix's three-part Jeen-Yuhs documentary chronicling Kanye's rise to prominence is planned to release in late January 2022 at the Sundance Film Festival.

The documentary, directed by Clarence "Coodie" Simmons and Chike Ozah, will then be released on Netflix in late 2022 for public viewing.

In a statement, Netflix said, “Shot over 20 years, this documentary trilogy is an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist.”

“Jeen-Yuhs” is jam-packed with never-before-seen footage of Kanye West in the early days of his career, when he had to prove he had what it took to be a successful rapper and producer in the face of skepticism.

The documentary's first teaser, released in September, shows Kanye West and Mos Def in New York City in 2002, rhyming a cappella to their 2004 College Dropout duet "Two Words."
