Emma Watson has made a triumphant comeback to the world of red carpet events!
Correctly spelled, the green carpet. Kate Middleton and Prince William, as well as other A-listers, gathered in London for the Earthshot Prize's inaugural presentation on Sunday, Oct. 17, to honor the 31-year-old Harry Potter star. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, her last significant social event was a Little Women premiere in December of 2019.
Emma's bold and sustainable ensemble wowed attendees at the event on Sunday, and she made a major fashion statement. A flowy white backless and sleeveless top made from recycled wedding dresses from Oxfam's foundation to support disadvantaged women was worn by the Beauty and the Beast actress to the environmental award presentation where she presented an award. Flared black slacks and booties appeared to be Emma's footwear choices for the ensemble.
As of May, she had not been seen in public with her longtime lover Leo Robinton since they exited a pharmacy in Los Angeles. He did not appear during the awarding of the Earthshot Prizes. After they were last seen together, Emma responded to speculations about her acting profession and her relationship with her partner in a rare public statement. She addressed her followers as "Dear Fans" in a tweet. "You can get clicks by spreading rumors about things like whether I've been engaged or not, and whether my career is "dormant" or not. If there's anything new, you can count on me to let you know about it."
"In the mean time [sic] please presume no news from me just means I'm quietly spending the pandemic the way most people are - failing to make sourdough bread (! ), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still hurting so many people," she said.
Even the Duchess of Cambridge showed up to the Earthshot Prize presentation in an outfit she previously revealed at a BAFTA event in Los Angeles during her and Prince William's first foreign tour in a decade: a majestic lavender Alexander McQueen gown.
One million pounds ($1.4 million) will be awarded to five environmental problem-solving solutions. Emma's Harry Potter co-star Emma Thompson and actor David Oyelowo were among the celebrities who attended the Earthshot Prize presentation. In addition, Coldplay performed with the help of 60 bikers who contributed the band's energy.
