In Fortnite, almost every major superhero has made an appearance. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Aquaman, and Catwoman are all DC characters. Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Venom, and Wolverine are among Marvel's skins. That's just the main hitters, though; both firms have a slew of other characters. However, one major superhero is conspicuously absent: Spider-Man.
Spidey may finally make an appearance on the Island, according to a leak from @HYPEX. Epic is working on a new item codenamed 'WestSausage,' which he believes will be 'Web-Slinger,' according to him. The mechanics it'd bring, such as "Swing Attach Location, Swing Detach Time, Swinging, Swing Accelerate, Swing Jump," would add gasoline to the flames. You can't deny that it sounds a lot like Spider-Man...
If this is accurate, it means Epic and Marvel want Spidey's first appearance in the game to be more than just a skin. After all, the highly anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home, which, like Fortnite, includes characters from several universes unexpectedly thrust together, is set to hit theaters in December. Why not turn this into a large-scale cross-promotional event?
Using this as a chance to finally get Spider-Man into Fortnite seems to make a lot of sense to me. The licensing rights are the only stumbling block I can imagine. Around the same time, the figure is rumored to appear in the infamous flop Marvel's Avengers — but exclusively on Sony platforms.
Fortnite doesn't do single-platform skins (even Sony's Kratos and Microsoft's Master Chief are available on all systems), so there could be some legal issues.
