Today, Adele is writing a new chapter in the archives of fashion.
First time ever, the "Hello" singer is the cover star of both US and UK Vogue. To promote her upcoming album, Adele appears in the November issues of Rolling Stone and People, where she opens up about her personal life and career goals.
The 33-year-old British singer appears on the cover of both the November issues of American Vogue and British Vogue, which were released concurrently on Thursday.
In a colorful and flowing green Valentino Haute Couture dress and Cartier jewels, photographer Alasdair Mclellan caught Adele for the Vogue cover. The "Chasing Pavements" singer was photographed by Steven Meisel for British Vogue sporting a canary yellow dress and waves in her hair. The singer appears on the cover of the magazine in a kelly green couture gown by Maison Valentino, which features huge puffy sleeves and a blown-out skirt for a dramatic effect. A special yellow version of a Victorian corset gown was created for the British front page by Vivienne Westwood with help from the Brit. An off-the-shoulder shape is included, as is a sparkling Tiffany Co. brooch.
American and British Vogues both feature an Adele cover story in November.
In 2015, the silky singer-latest songwriter's album, "25," was published after a six-year hiatus. However, she reveals her next "delicate" project is on the way after teasing fans with a taste of her new tune "Easy on Me" on Tuesday.
"I'm continually saying that '21' is no longer mine. American Vogue quoted her as saying that "everyone else took it into their hearts so much" about her Grammy-winning record of the year endeavor from 2011. "This is one I'm not going to let go of easily.
Adele has spoken out about her divorce woes in a recent Vogue photo where she also showed off her remarkable weight loss. After a seven-year relationship with Simon Konecki, she divorced him in April of this year and this is her first new music since then.
In an interview with People magazine, she revealed that she and Angelo's ex-husband had left the youngster "very upset" about the split.
To cover the November issues of British and American Vogue, Adele revealed that her forthcoming album was to address his queries. Good questions, innocent ones, for which I have no answer at this time. Simon and I never fought over him or anything like that, Angelo's just saying, 'I don't get it,'" continues his mother.
That's why I'm not understanding it either. In marriage and after marriage, there are standards that society has put up, but I'm a complex individual. I've always been open with him about how I'm feeling, even when I was a kid.
She said, "It just wasn't... It wasn't right for me any more, that's all. I didn't want to wind up like so many of the other people I knew who had gone through similar experiences. In the end, I didn't have to put myself last since it was better that way. Thought I'd let you know that nothing horrible happened."
"'How come you two can't live together any longer?'" As I look back on this record when he's in his thirties or forties, I want to explain who I am and why I chose to voluntarily demolish his entire existence for my own satisfaction.
"At times, it was making him quite miserable. And that's a wound I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get over." She also said that she was "embarrassed" that her marriage didn't work out, saying bravely: "That problem of not being able to make things work. As women, we've been conditioned to keep trying, even since we were little, thanks to the movies we watched. At the time, it was heartbreaking, but looking back, I find it quite fascinating. This is how we're supposed to deal with it: by sucking up to it. Now that's over with."
Aside from teaching Angelo some life lessons through music, she claims that despite her "idea" that her album would focus on their divorce, it does not.
Her explanation was this: I put it on the record as a way to teach Angelo how I expect him to respect his partner, regardless of gender. As a result of my recent divorce, my standards have risen considerably. It's going to be difficult to fill such enormous boots."
With a plunging yellow dress and a gold star-shaped brooch, the singer shows off her astonishing 45kg weight loss in the magazine's front photo.
