Balmain Returns to Fashion Week As Celebration

Actress Milla Jovovich celebrated the return of the elite French brand by walking for their collection, along with many other supermodels of yesterday and today.

With a catwalk show featuring Naomi Campbell, former French First Lady Carla Bruni, Milla Jovovich, and Natalia Vodianova, French fashion house Balmain marked the 10-year anniversary of creative director Olivier Rousteing's tenure.

Models strutted down the stage of a packed music hall on the Seine River, draped in chains and layered with bold-shouldered jackets or trench coats that swept the floor in deconstructed garments slit to show patches of bare skin, draped with chains, and draped with bold-shouldered jackets or trench coats that swept the floor.

At the conclusion of the show, the designer took a bow in front of the audience, flanked by over a dozen models dressed in sequined gowns.

Thousands of fans flocked to the hall for a two-day festival that featured performances by Jesse Jo Stark, Doja Cat, and Franz Ferdinand, among others.

During Paris Fashion Week, which runs until Oct. 5, dozens of brands are holding in-person fashion shows, as slower COVID-19 infection rates and easing of restrictions allowed for the resumption of events that had been halted during the pandemic's peak.

At the Balmain festival, attendees could purchase food and drinks as well as branded merchandise such as 850 euro ($986) sneakers and hair cosmetics bags.
