'All of Us Are Dead' Sets New Milestone For Korean Series

The new Korean zombie series has now achieved the same success as Squid Game.

Squid Game soared to No. 1 on Netflix's daily Top 10 list in the United States four months ago, becoming the streaming service's most watched original series ever. All of Us Are Dead, a new Korean drama, has now achieved the same accomplishment.

This makes Korea the first country to have multiple non-English language shows in Netflix's daily Top 10, confirming its position as the most popular source of local content in the United States.

All of Us Are Dead, a zombie YA series that debuted at No. 1 on its seventh day of release against Day 4 for Squid Game, clearly rode on the latter's coattails, taking advantage of the surge in interest in Korean dramas following Squid Game's amazing success.

Squid Game and All of Us Are Dead, on the other hand, did not appear out of nowhere. The popularity of Korean dramas on Netflix grew rapidly, with viewership in the United States increasing by more than 200 percent between 2019 and 2021.

The 12-episode All of Us Are Dead, which began on January 28, features a group of teenagers locked in a high school who find themselves in dangerous situations while trying to escape a zombie invasion.

Lee JQ is the showrunner, and Chun Sung-il is the writer. Lee JQ and Kim Nam-su are the creators and directors. Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo), Yoon Chan-young (Lee Cheong-san), Cho Yi-hyun (Choi Nam-ra), Lomon (Lee Su-hyeok), Yoo In-soo (Yoon Gwi-nam), Lim Jae-hyeok (Yang Dae-su), and Lee You-mi (Lee You-mi) are among the cast members (Lee Na-yeon).
