Drake's blockbuster HBO comedy about the fast-paced lives of teenagers at an East Highland high school is returning for a third season.
Euphoria, the hallucinogenic teen drama, is being brought back for a junior year of love, grief, and addiction, according to Variety. Zendaya appears in the Emmy Award-winning series, which has become not only a hit for HBO but also one of the most-watched shows on television.
The season two premiere drew 14 million total viewers across HBO and HBO Max on January 14, up 100 percent over the 6.6 million average audience size viewers who turned in during the show's first season in the summer of 2019.
“Sam (Levinson), Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of ‘Euphoria’ have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart,” Francesca Orsi, executive vice president, HBO Programming, said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.“
Levinson and Drake, Adel "Future" Nur, Zendaya, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Will Greenfield, Ashley Levinson, and Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein developed, wrote, directed, and executive produced the series.
Drake's foray into television does not end with Euphoria. After resurrecting the popular web series Top Boy and bringing it to Netflix, the show's official Twitter account announced that season four will release on March 18 with eight new episodes.
