Garrett Hedlund was arrested over the weekend in Franklin County, Tennessee, just weeks after splitting from his longterm girlfriend, Emma Roberts.
UPDATE (1/23/2022 @ 3:50 p.m. EST): The Franklin County Sheriff's Department confirmed to HollywoodLife that Garrett is "no longer in custody."
Garrett Hedlund, 37, was arrested while inebriated in public on Saturday night. According to TMZ, the actor, who reportedly recently broke up with Emma Roberts, 30, is currently in detention following his arrest in Franklin County, Tennessee, and his bond has been set at $2100. It's unclear whether he's posted it yet, but a photo purporting to be his mug photograph has been provided by the outlet.
Garrett's arrest came just one day after the news of his and Emma's breakup made headlines. The former couple, who have a one-year-old son named Rhodes, reportedly split up a few weeks ago, although neither has confirmed the news. They began dating in 2019 and recently celebrated their son's birthday.
Garrett's most recent arrest isn't the only legal issue he's dealing with at the moment. He's also being sued for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol in January 2020. He was detained for DUI at the time after passing out and colliding with a Nissan carrying a woman and her three children. The following month, he pled no contest to a DUI offense and was sentenced to three years of probation.
Garrett's recent reported arrest might become an issue for him, as one of the requirements of probation is typically that no laws be broken, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Garrett joined Instagram five days ago and shared a black-and-white snapshot of himself sitting down and playing the guitar. He utilized the caption to promote his debut solo track.
“Guess who finally joined Instagram,” he wrote. “Been cookin’ somethin’ up in the studio for the past couple of months, and now I finally get to share it with the world: my first single as a solo artist, “The Road,” comes out this Friday, 01/21!”
“Got a lot more stuff coming out soon, and I can’t wait to share it all with you,” he added. “Until then, help me out and show ‘The Road’ some love by presaving it!”
