Godzilla & Titans Series Set On AppleTV+

The Godzilla spin-off will be based on Legendary's Monsterverse.

Plimsoll Productions' Patagonia: Life at the Edge of the World examines the unique landscapes and civilizations of the South American continent. The six-part series, which will premiere in the spring, is narrated by Pedro Pascal.

LBJ: Triumph and Tragedy, which will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on February 20 and 21, and Nomad with Carlton McCoy, which will premiere at 10 p.m. ET on March 13, were previously revealed.

Legendary Television will produce the series, which will be executive produced by co-creators Chris Black and Matt Fraction, as well as Safehouse Pictures' Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell and Toho Co. Ltd. Toho's executive producers will be Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita. Toho owns the Godzilla character and has licensed the rights to Legendary for this series as a natural result of their long-standing collaboration on the film franchise.

After Godzilla v. Kong became one of the first huge box-office hits of the epidemic age, talk of expanding the universe through a series arose. Legendary is currently working on the next untitled Monsterverse feature, but they spotted the potential for a series and began talking to interested purchasers. Apple expressed instant interest in the series as it seeks to add more branded IP to its growing slate of original TV programs, and a deal was quickly reached to begin development.

Beginning with Godzilla in 2014 and continuing with Kong: Skull Island in 2017, Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019, and Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021, the Monsterverse films have grossed nearly $2 billion worldwide and are being expanded with a new anime series, Skull Island.
