Sony and Marvel's superhero phenomenon earned $19.7 million on Christmas Eve, bringing its total domestic ticket sales to $405.5 million and making it Sony's highest-grossing domestic film of all time, not adjusted for inflation.

The previous record holder was in 2017 which was Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($404.5 million).

Furthermore, No Way Home is on the verge of becoming the first pandemic-era film to break the $1 billion mark at the global box office. After concluding Friday with more over $900 million globally, the film will reach the milestone on Sunday, if not Christmas Day.

The latest Spider-Man film is one of the quickest to reach the $1 billion mark. The ranking is topped by Avengers: Endgame (five days), followed by Avengers: Infinity War (11) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (12). (12). The 11th day of No Way Home's release is Christmas Day.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is dominating the Christmas box office, as expected, however Universal and Illumination's Sing 2 is no slouch, with a five-day opening of $40 million expected. The animated family film debuted against The Matrix Resurrections and The King's Man, both of which are suffering at the box office. (The Matrix can also be found on HBO Max.)
