Ex-girlfriend Beverly Johnson accused him of severe domestic violence in court filings dating back to the 1990s.
Sex and the City dominated pop culture for six seasons. People were captivated with Carrie Bradshaw and her crew of friends as they navigated fashion and sex in New York City, and the cast was recreated for the revival, And Just Like That, all these years later. Chris Noth played the renowned "Mr. Big" character in both incarnations of the series, but he has been accused of sexual assault only days after the reboot's launch.
The 67-year-old actor has denied the charges against him, which include allegations of physical abuse against ex-girlfriend and former supermodel Beverly Johnson decades ago.
According to Deadline, Noth issued a statement calling the incidents "consensual," adding that "the accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades ago are categorically false." He recently starred in a Peleton commercial with Ryan Reynolds, in which they referenced an And Just Like That scene, but the ad was pulled as soon as the allegations surfaced on the internet.
Noth's agent, A3, has also been claimed to have dropped him just three months after joining with them. Beverly Johnson's charges against Noth were also covered in the Daily Beast in 1995, as court filings purportedly detailed her version of events. According to Johnson, she dated Noth from 1990 to 1995, but when their relationship ended, he "hit her," "vowed to murder her dog," and called her "25 times a day."
She allegedly claimed that if she chatted with other guys, he would become enraged and punch her "over and over." Johnson reportedly obtained a restraining order against him because her family was afraid that he would murder her "if she didn't take action." Noth has not responded to the resurrected documents.
