Writer and actress Ashley Nicole Black has signed an overall deal with studio Warner Bros. to create programming for HBO Max and other platforms owned by WarnerMedia. According to the multiyear deal they agreed on, Black will not only create but also produce regular programs for WarnerMedia and its streaming services and cable and broadcast outlets.
This is not the first time Black has worked with Warner Bros. TV Group but this is the first time she officially signed an overall deal with them. As a writer and actress, she has performed on TBS' Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and won an Emmy in 2017 as Not The White House Correspondents Dinner writer. She also has been nominate seven times at the Emmys for writing on Full Frontal, Peacock's The Amber Ruffin Show, and HBO's A Black Lady Sketch Show.
This year, Black was active as a writer and producer on Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso season two which Warner Bros. also produces. She is a supervising producer and writer on Bad Money, Apple's newest upcoming show starring Vince Vaugn and executive produced by Bill Lawrence's Doozer Productions.
