Kim Kardashian is the People's Choice as their "Fashion Icon". Donning an all-black look from Balenciaga reminiscent to her 2021 Met Gala look, the reality star accepted her award as the "Fashion Icon" of the year at the 2021 People's Choice Awards. 

As one of the biggest and most popular fashionistas in the world, it came as a no surprise for Kardashian to be dedicated the "Fashion Icon" award. Kim attended the event personally on December 7 in Los Angeles to accept her award and thanked her estranged husband Ye in her speech.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum came to the stage ready to turn heads and knock chairs as she strutted in a monochromatic black look, composed of a tight-fitted dress, mock turtleneck, and gloved series. She accessorized the outfit with pointed-toe black heeled boots and futuristic-style black sunglasses. She wore her signature long dark hair down.

While being visibly emotional as she accepts the award, Kim nonchalantly dropped the name of Kanye, with whom she's been estranged since February of this year. She said in her speech, "I am so humble to be here. I started off as a closet organizer and a stylist so to win a fashion award, it's a 'pinch me' moment. Designers are willing to work with me and there was a time when they weren’t. So many amazing designers like Zac Posen who really believed me or probably got talked into it by getting a call from Kanye. And thank you to Kanye even for introducing me to the fashion world. I fell in love with fashion and I’m so inspired by so many people. This is like a dream to wake up and wear these amazing clothes."

Since she rose to fame as a reality star, Kim has worked with every famous and legendary designer imaginable. Aside from that, she also maintains close relationship with many of them. Just earlier this week, she was present at the memorial service Louis Vuitton's Creative Director Virgil Abloh who passed away from cancer at the age of 41 in November. Her husband Kanye was immensely close with Virgil so it is a no-brainer that she had also gotten close to him and to his family over the years as well. Ye was also present at Virgil's Chicago memorial.

What was surprising to some fans was the fact that Kim dropped Kanye's name in her speech, considering how she has been spotted out and about for quite some time now with comedian Pete Davidson. After she hosted Saturday Night Live in October, she has been seen getting cozy with Pete for a few times now. In a picture posted by one of their family's friends in November, Pete was revealed to have visited Kim's mom's, momager Kris Jenner, home in Palm Springs.
