French Designer Manfred Thierry Mugler Passes Away At 73

Condolences to the family and friends of the iconic fashion designer.

Manfred Thierry Mugler, the founder of Mugler, has passed away at the age of 73.

"We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday January 23rd 2022," his personal Instagram profile said in a photo with a black square and the text, "We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr. Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday January 23rd 2022." "May the soul of his departed soul rest in peace."

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Mugler was born on December 21, 1948, in Strasbourg, France. Mugler's youth was spent pursuing his talents for dancing and the arts. He joined the Rhin Opera ballet corps when he was 14 years old.

He began his design career at Karim in his early twenties. He moved to Paris at the age of 24 and worked for the Gudule shop. Later in his career, he worked as a designer for a number of fashion firms in Paris, Milan, London, and Spain.

Mugler's shapely suits earned him international acclaim in the 1980s and 1990s, and his fashion shows were famous for their lavish, thematic spectacles.

The designer declared his departure from the fashion industry in 2003. "Fashion is lovely, three-dimensional art on a human being." But it wasn't enough, so I moved on to other forms of creation. It wasn't the correct tool for me anymore. "However, perfume continues to pique my curiosity," Mugler remarked of his departure.

Mugler came out of retirement in 2019 when he designed a gown for Kim Kardashian West at the Met Gala. Mugler imagined a "wet couture dress" for the social media sensation, drawing inspiration from Sophia Loren in Boy On A Dolphin and Kardashian's home state.
