The world's first space-based entertainment studio and multi-purpose arena will open in just two years, and the studio behind the Tom Cruise space picture has been revealed.

SEE-1, a ground-breaking studio from film producers Elena and Dmitry Lesnevsky's newly-launched Space Entertainment Enterprise (S.E.E. ), will dock with Axiom's world-first commercial space station, Axiom Station, which is connected to the International Space Station (ISS).

Former Endemol Shine UK CEO Richard Johnston has joined S.E.E. as COO, as has Mark Taffet, the former Senior Vice President of Sports and Pay Per View at HBO, and ex-Viacom Technology VP Remi Abayomi.

SEE-1, which will open in late 2024 and break away from the ISS in 2028, will allow artists, producers, and creatives to develop, produce, record, and live-stream content thanks to the studio's low-orbit micro gravity environment. Third-party content and events will be able to use the space arena as a venue and production infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the production company behind Tom Cruise's space picture, which Deadline announced in May 2020, has been revealed as S.E.E. Elon Musk's Space X is also involved in the project, which is mostly unknown save from the fact that it is not part of the Mission Impossible world.
