'2022 Grammy Awards' Unveils New Date and Location

The awards show was postponed from its original January date due to the Covid infection surge.

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards will now be held on Sunday, April 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, after being postponed from its original January date in Los Angeles.

Trevor Noah will host the ceremony, which will air live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. 5 p.m. ET PT. The revised date was announced on Tuesday by the Recording Academy, CBS, and CMT, which will now move its CMT Music Awards from April 3 to later in April as a result of the change.

The Grammy Awards were originally scheduled for January 31 at Crypto.com Arena (previously Staples Center) in Los Angeles, but were rescheduled on January 5 due to a wave of Covid infections caused by the Omicron strain.

The Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammy Awards, and CBS did not immediately select a new date, and the L.A. They opted to search elsewhere because the facility was fully occupied with NBA and NHL games. The Recording Academy has used the MGM facility to hold the Latin Grammys, so the layout is familiar.

The dates and venues of other official Grammy Week activities are still being finalized.

Fulwell 73 Productions produces the Grammy Awards on behalf of the Recording Academy. Raj Kapoor serves as showrunner and executive producer, with executive producers Ben Winston and Jesse Collins and co-executive producer Jeannae Rouzan-Clay. Hamish Hamilton returns as director, with Tabitha D'umo, Patrick Menton, Fatima Robinson, and David Wild as producers, and Eric Cook as supervising producer.

The CMT Music Awards were gearing up for their inaugural year on CBS.
