The Oscars will have a host for the first time in three years.
Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, made the announcement at his TCA executive session.
The executive didn't provide any other information on who will host the annual film festival, but joked that it may be him.
He also praised executive producer Will Packer, claiming that he had "his pulse of popular culture."
Packer and the Academy, according to reports, have begun reaching out to major Hollywood stars for the role, with Dwayne Johnson reported to be among those on their wish list. We've heard that popular previous hosts like Chris Rock have been approached, yet getting someone is proving difficult during the pandemic.
There's also a chance that the event would have multiple hosts – according to sources, the concept of three celebrities anchoring different parts of the show has been broached.
