'Comic Book Men' Actor Robert Bruce Found Dead in NJ Storage Unit

Condolences to Robert Bruce's family and friends.

Robert Bruce, a cast member of the AMC reality show Comic Book Men, was discovered dead in a New Jersey storage facility on Friday.

Bruce, 62, was thought to be residing in a basement apartment at the storage facility, which he also used as an office, according to his relatives. According to NJ.com, authorities are not suspecting foul play, but the investigation is still ongoing.

After his family reported not hearing from him in many days, police went seeking for him.

Bruce was a major collectibles expert who appeared in 34 episodes of AMC's Comic Book Men between 2012 and 2018. Each episode featured specialists appraising a collection of collector's goods at director Kevin Smith's comic book business, "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash," in Red Bank. Walt Flanagan, Mike Zapcic, Bryan Johnson, and Ming Chen who are Smith's longtime buddies, all appeared in the show.

Bruce had production and consulting credits on 82 episodes in addition to acting in them. In one memorable event, Bruce contacted comic book artist and writer George Pérez to commission an original work for a fellow collector who had lost his Teen Titans poster due to Hurricane Sandy.

Bruce's most recent Instagram image came from a flea market in New Jersey on December 22.
