The Omicron variant is soldiering on the winter winds just to wreak havoc to families all around the globe. In a speech delivered by Biden on Tuesday, December 21, he announced his plan to make 500 million rapid tests for Americans free and pledges his support for hospitals under strain.

Due to his hand being forced by the Omicron variant, he stated that the government plans to purchase 500 million coronavirus rapid tests and ship them free to Americans in January. People will then use a new website to order the tests and will be subsequently sent to them by U.S. maill for free. This new plan is in total contrast to his earlier announcement when he called on for the people to purchase the hard-to-find tests on their own.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said at Monday's press briefing that the president does not plan to impose lockdowns and will instead be encouraging people to get vaccinated.
