For this year, YouGov's study surveyed more than 42,000 people in 38 countries and territories. In the list of most admired men, it contains more people from political, business, and sporting world whilst entertainers are more prominent in the women's list.
The results of the list are derived from the combination of responses to two questions - whether a respondent admires the figure at all or whether they are the figure the respondent admire the most. The list also takes into consideration the country's population size.
All surveys were conducted online including Egypt, Indonesia, India, Colombia, the Philippines, Mexico, Malaysia, Pakistan, and South Africa.
