Singer Grimes is seemingly shading her CEO ex-boyfriend Elon Musk.

The 33-year old musician's new song "Player of Games" appears to allude to the Tesla founder. All throughout the techno-driven track, the singer sings about her love story with a video-game loving boyfriend. The Canadian singer belts out in the track, "I’m in love with the greatest gamer, but he’ll always love the game more than he loves me."

As per CNET, Elon Musk once aspired to be a video game designer and created his first shooter game at the age of 12 called "Blastar". He also acknowledges his status as a billionare on his passion and obsession with electronic games. In 2019, he said in an interview at the E3 Expo that it was "part of the reason, maybe the reason, I got interested in tech was video games. I probably wouldn’t have started programming if it wasn’t for video games." Last January, he confessed in a tweet that he was a fan of X-Box's "Halo".

In the "Player of Games", Grimes sings, “Sail away to the cold expanse of space, even love couldn’t keep you in your place,” which may also refer to the SpaceX founder and his famous love for space travel. The heartwrenching ballad has detailed too many similarities to Musk. 

The pair split in September and co-parents their one-year old child. At the time of their split, Musk told Page Six that the both of them are amicable with each other. “We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms. It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas, and her work is primarily in LA.”

Elon Musk and Grimes started their romance in 2018. Their relationship was relatively quiet but later on hit the news due to their unforgettable appearance at the 2018 Met Gala. In 2020, Grimes gave birth to their son whose name became a controversial topic. The pair have named their son X Æ A-XII Musk. Musk also has five children with his first wife Justine Wilson. He was also married to actress Talulah Riley of Westworld fame.
