It's another day, another chart topping song for Taylor Swift. But this time around, it is for a 10 minute song.

Yes, you read that right. Taylor Swift's newest release from her album Red (Taylor's Version), All Too Well (10 Minute Version), just landed at the No. 1 spot in the Billboard Hot 100. It beccame the longest song to ever reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100's U.S. Chart, beating out the record held by Don McLean for his hit song "American Pie" for nearly 50 years.

McLean's song runs for eight minutes and 37 seconds (8:37) while Swift's song runs for ten minutes and thirteen seconds (10:13). After Billboard releases its chart ranking, Swift sent the "American Pie" singer flowers and a handwritten letter.

According to a picture McLean shared on Instagram, Swift's letter reads, "Don, I will never forget that I'm standing on the shoulders of giants. Your music has been so important to me. Sending love one writer of LONG SONGS to another. Your fan, Taylor." McLean was impressed and touched by the gesture, saying "What a class act! Thank you Taylor Swift for the flowers and note." After Swift beat out his record, McLean told Billboard, "There is something to be said for a great song that has staying power. ‘American Pie’ remained on top for 50 years and now Taylor Swift has unseated such a historic piece of artistry. Let’s face it, nobody ever wants to lose that #1 spot, but if I had to lose it to somebody, I sure am glad it was another great singer/songwriter such as Taylor."

This is not the first time Taylor Swift has given gifts to other artists. She is well-known to love sending out gifts not only to her colleagues but also to her fans. Earlier this year, artist Olivia Rodrigo revealed that she got a package from Taylor Swift which also contained a handwritten letter.
