Marilyn Manson Removed from Grammy Nominees for Best Rap Song

Manson has not won any Grammy’s and yet loses a nomination.

Marilyn Manson has been eliminated from one of the two previously revealed Grammy Award nominees.

In an amended list issued by the Recording Academy to the Grammys' website on Thursday, Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, was removed as a nominee. The rocker was nominated in the best rap song category alongside Kanye West and Jay-Z for the Donda rapper's hit "Jail." In addition to the best rap song category, Manson received a second Donda nomination for album of the year as a featured artist and songwriter among a long list of performers. According to the Grammys' website, that nomination is still valid.

In addition to this, Los Angeles officials are currently investigating the singer for sexual assault allegations filed by a number of women. A search warrant was recently served on Manson's residence, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy Eva Jimenez.

In February, the sheriff's department said that investigators were looking into accusations of domestic violence against Manson involving incidents that allegedly occurred in West Hollywood between 2009 and 2011. Manson's former girlfriend, Westworld actor Evan Rachel Wood, publicly labeled him as her abuser in an Instagram post the same month.

Esmé Bianco, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, has also filed a federal lawsuit against Manson. She claims that the shock rocker abused her sexually, physically, and emotionally, as well as breaking human trafficking laws by bringing her to California from England for roles in music videos and movies that never materialized or existed.

At one of Kanye West's Sunday Service events, Manson performed with West and singer Justin Bieber. Manson, who first rose to prominence in the 1990s, has gotten four Grammy nominations in his career but has never won one.
