Alec Baldwin Finally Breaks His Silence And Sits Down For a Primetime TV Interview Following "Rust" Shooting

George Stephanopoulos, ABC News anchor, sits down with Alec Baldwin for his first ever major interview since the tragic happening on the set of his film "Rust".

Saying it was the "most intense" interview in his career as an ABC News anchor, George Stephanopoulos will have the first sit-down interview with actor Alec Baldwin since the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Baldwin's film "Rust".

To be aired on December 2, Thursday, at 8PM, ABC will release the fill interview as a primetime special and will be subsequently streamed on Hulu later that evening. Accompanying the interview, ABC will also air a two-hour edition of its news magazine 20/20 on December 10 probing and investigating the Rust Accident. The two-hour program will be featuring additional reporting and interviews.

It was announced on Good Morning America on Wednesday morning that the interview and specials will be aired. Stephanopoulos stated on GMA that, "this was the most intense interview I have ever experienced. He was so raw, as you can imagine he was devastated, but he was also very candid, he was very forthcoming, he answered every question, he talked about Halyna Hutchins, meeting her family as well, and he talked in detail about what happened on the set that day."

On October 21, Rust cinematographer Hutchins was fatally shot and director Souza was wounded when Baldwin fired a gun that he believed was safe but actually contained a live round, according to the Santa Fe County Sherrif's Office.

Criminal investigation into the shooting is being done by the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office and the New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney. Authorities have said that it could take months to complete.

Alec Baldwin, assistant director Dave Halls, and armorer Hannah Gutierrez - Reed are among those under investigation.

Alec Baldwin Unscripted will air on Thursday 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC and streams on Hulu later that evening. It was produced by George Stephanopoulos Productions.
