Vanessa Hudgens does not like plain drinking water.
The actress (32) told Shape this. In fact, she dislikes it to the point that she has fainted due to dehydration a few times.
Water is very important to the body and is useful for almost every system in the body. Not getting a lot of water can give you a risk of getting a UTI or kidney issues.
She then found a solution to this problem - flavored water. She's releasing her very own line of cactus water called Caliwater.
Cactus water stems from the pink plant on top of a cactus. It's not the water inside the green husk.
It has fewer calories and less sugar content than coconut water.
Rachel Nazarian, a dermatologist, says that this cactus water possibly can clear the skin. "The skin benefits are derived from a high number of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. These help decrease puffiness and redness in the skin while concurrently hydrating without adding excess sugar. Ultimately, there's no such thing as miracle anti-aging sources yet, but with its collection of skin-boosting vitamins and antioxidants, cactus water is leading the pack." said the dermatologist to Byrdie.com.
The cactus water also has electrolytes which can help regulate fluids. According to Healthline, prickly-pear cactus has already been used as treatment for type 2 diabetes, hangovers, constipation, and pain.
As always, make sure to consult with your doctor before chugging this drink to make sure there will not be any interference with current medications or conditions.
