According to Netflix, The Witcher received 541 million hours of viewing time, which translates to around 7 hours and 7 minutes per user, split across 76 million member accounts who watched at least two minutes. The first season of the series has a run duration of 7 hours and 58 minutes, implying that many subscribers watched the entire season.
Stranger Things 3 had a longer average viewing duration (8 hours, 41 minutes) than the season's whole run length (7 hours, 29 minutes), based on 67 million member accounts watching 582 million hours. That means some consumers finished the season and then watched a chunk of it again in less than four weeks.
Of course, Netflix and other streaming services collect thorough records of how many users finish a particular title, as well as other crucial indicators. However, like with other numbers related to streaming titles, they are rarely made public. The Hollywood Reporter calculated the average viewing time per account in this story.
The most popular Netflix original movies had high watching hour counts, indicating that many users watched them multiple times. The total number of hours for Bird Box (282 million), Extraction (231 million), Spenser Confidential (197 million), and The Old Guard (186 million) is larger than each film's running time when divided by the number of accounts that crossed the two-minute threshold.
It's also worth noting that, while Extraction has the greatest "view" total on Netflix (99 million accounts viewed at least two minutes), and five films have higher numbers than Bridgerton, none of the streaming service's top 10 movies have accumulated up more viewing time than the 10th ranked series. That's not surprising, given that all ten presentations lasted at least seven hours, giving viewers plenty of time to keep watching.
