Angelina Jolie sold her stake in Château Miraval

The hollywood actress sold her stake in $164 million wine brand co-owned with former husband Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie has sold her share of the $164 million French chateau and winery she co-owns with Brad Pitt.

According to a press announcement issued Tuesday, Tenute del Mondo, the wine business of the Stoli Group, purchased 50% of the Château Miraval estate from Jolie for an undisclosed sum. Château Miraval is a French estate in the south. Miraval rosé is the brand's signature wine.
Jolie's ownership in the company was at the center of the couple's most recent legal battle. The actress was given permission to sell her stakes in the winery and estate where she married Pitt in 2014 last month. Because of her and Pitt's pending divorce, Jolie had trouble selling her interests in Quimicum, the business that owns and operates Chateau Miraval. According to court documents acquired by PEOPLE, she sought a California court in July to accept the sale despite the fact that they were still in the middle of their divorce procedures. When the two actors originally bought shares in Quimicum in 2008, their companies split ownership 60-40, with Mondo Bongo owning the majority. The ratio was evened out to 50-50 in 2013 when Mondo Bongo transferred some shares to Nouvel, according to the complaint acquired by PEOPLE. According to the paperwork, Pitt, 57, sold Jolie's shares for a symbolic price of 1 Euro in 2013, well below the genuine worth of her holding, and now wants the transfer revoked.

In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. They've been fighting for custody of their children Maddox, 20, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 13, since then.

However, Pitt's firm, Mondo Bongo, has also launched a lawsuit against Jolie's company, Nouvel, in order to keep a majority portion of the inheritance. The Perrin family and Brad Pitt have a new partner. For an undisclosed fee, Angelina Jolie sold her 50% ownership in Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, a unit of the Stoli Group. As a result, the beverages company is collaborating with Jolie's ex-husband on a Provençal rosé winery.

Since the Hollywood power couple purchased the estate in 2012 and joined with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel to release their first wines in 2013, Miraval has been a blockbuster. According to Impact Databank, a sister publication of Wine Spectator, sales in the United States increased 17.4 percent to slightly under 150,000 cases last year. The estate was purchased for an estimated $60 million by the couple at the time. Analysts believe that it is now worth $162 million.

In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce. The winery's operations have resumed as usual, and in 2020, the company will release a Champagne. However, there have been various reports that Jolie wanted to sell.

Tenute del Mondo currently has a 50% stake in Miraval, bringing its total interests to 50%. The corporation owns Argentina's Achával-Ferrer and Spain's Arnzano, as well as Italian icons Masseto, Ornellaia, Luce, and Castelgiocondo (together with the Frescobaldi family). "We are happy to have a position beside Brad Pitt as curators of their amazing vintages," stated Stoli Group CEO Damian McKinney, adding, "We are thrilled to have a position alongside Brad Pitt as curators of their extraordinary vintages."
